LOMPOC P.D. DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
DUI CHECKPOINT NETS 16 ARRESTS

LOMPOC- DECEMBER 22nd, 2009

The Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Tuesday December 22, 2009 as part of Lompoc’s commitment to public safety.  This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Lompoc. The location of The location of Tuesday’s checkpoint was in the 1500 block of east Laurel Avenue for west bound traffic.  The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. 

A driver of one vehicle was arrested after it was found he possessed narcotics, a felony. Two of tonight’s drivers arrested for driving unlicensed had previously been arrested for driving unlicensed.

The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:

Driving without a drivers license                        15         
Driving on a suspended license                               1
Drivers evaluated for D.U.I                                   7 Drivers were drinking but under the limit of .08
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold                       12
Vehicles towed for a 1-day hold                           4                         
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint                 350
