LOMPOC P.D. DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
LOMPOC- October 26th, 2009
The Lompoc Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through both enforcement and education. On Friday October 23, 2009 the Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI / Drivers License checkpoint in the 200 block of north “H” Street (SR 1) for both north and south bound traffic. The purpose of the checkpoint was not only to detect and arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol / drugs, but also locate drivers who were unlicensed, as well as remind everyone of the dangers of impaired driving.
The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:
Driving without a drivers license 3
Driving on a suspended license 11
Drivers evaluated for D.U.I 13 Drivers were drinking but under the limit of .08
DUI arrest 0
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold 9
Vehicles towed for a 1-day hold 1
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint 975
Warrant arrest 1
Miscellaneous citation 1
Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
