LOMPOC P.D. DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
NETS 4 ARRESTS

LOMPOC- JUNE 3rd, 2010

The Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Tuesday June 1, 2010 as part of Lompoc’s commitment to public safety.  This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Lompoc. The location of the checkpoint was in the 400 block of west North Avenue for east & west bound traffic.  The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing unlicensed and impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. 

 

The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:

Driving without a drivers license                        1           

Driving on a suspended license                                2

Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold                        2

Vehicles towed for a 1-day hold                          1

Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint                 300

Miscellaneous traffic stops/citations                   12

Warrant Arrest                                                      1

Drivers evaluated for D.U.I                                 9 (These drivers were drinking but under the legal limit and not arrested)

Weapons Offense Arrest                                      1 (This person was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon, he had a rifle easily accessible to him inside the car and along with a handgun)

 

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1!
